  1. What is the best key board typing teaching method and why? How quick do the students learn? What speed do they achieve? Are students 100% Accurate? How is the performance measured?

    Thanks

    1. I favor a mixture of approaches–drill, games, online/software keyboarding tools, quizzes, exercises. A little bit of everything.

    1. My pleasure, Carol. I realize making these posters helps me organize my thinking so probably does for others, too. Love your site.

  2. My district utilizes Qwertytown (www.Qwertytown.com) which is the only program I know of that incorporates the 21st century skills of communication and collaboration while learning necessary keyboarding skills. Students unlock the ability to communicate with classmates in a safe online environment through chat and email features when they have successfully completed levels. They offer a free trial too!

    1. Thanks for adding this information, Cortney. I’ve heard good things about Qwertytown–glad to have a personal perspective here.

  3. Typing Tournament Online http://www.typingtournament.com is a new web service designed to teach children to type. It is suitable for use both at home and school and operates on Mac and PC computers, iPads and Surface and Android tablets. It is full of innovative features that combine to help children use the right fingers on the right keys and motivate them to learn. Uniquely it uses a bespoke on-screen keyboard to overcome the serious issues arising with the inbuilt soft keyboards on mobile devices. It uses a powerful combination of mastery learning, teaching sequences and games to motivate children to learn the vital skill of keyboarding. The fully featured school management system allows the importation of lists of children and has advanced reporting that put teachers in control. Typing Tournament Online is a truly revolutionary service that empowers children to learn the vital skill of 10 finger typing.
