  1. Can you recommend any typing programs that I can use for typing homework?
    It would be for 4 & 5th graders. I want to get away from sending home paper and them printing out their work. It needs to be free and I would need to be able to see how long they typed for the week. Ads must be appropriate.

    Any suggestions other than typingweb.com?

    1. A lot of people like Typing Club–free also.

      I like DanceMat Typing, Nimble Fingers or Power Typing. All three–typing is done online, but neither allows allow you to track student progress online. I have a work-around where students open two windows, one with the typing program and one with a countdown timer–see image Double-sided image--typing program and timer. Take a screen shot or a video and upload to teacher. These are great skills for students–screen shots and sharing videos–and with the range of 4/5th graders.
