This is a great visual website that enables students to zoom in on the most amazing events in the history of the Universe. Using a slider (or the mouse wheel, or arrow keys) and mouse, you explore the world like never before, accompanied by some pretty eerie but appropriate music. If you see something that catches your eye–like Mercury–click it and read a short synopsis on it.

There are no ads, no gimics, just you and your imagination.

Be aware: It does require Flash. I guess that means it won’t work on the iPad.
